Yesterday I did some interesting discovery - oppo’s firmware do support progressive output on component connection!
Unfortunately my plasma panel do not support progressive scan on component so I can not test this feature.

Here is long awaited firmware update for oppo 971.
Changes from v1:
+ Now browser has 9 lines, not 6.
+ New Audio settings menu.
+ Equalizer and Sound field settings are saved on power off.
+ Forced pan&scan feature.
Note that this mod is adopted mod for Russian bbk985 player, so second language of the firmware is Russian, not Chineese.

I think that videocd is obsolete now and I have extremely low space in firmware for new menu items

Here is another beta firmware based on vF3 that may solve the subtitle problem.
I can not reproduce this problem myself, so it is just a theoretical solution.
